Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

ALAN – Journal of Art and Design is committed to the principles of research ethics, academic integrity, transparency, and impartiality in all publication processes. The journal adopts the principles of COPE and follows a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, and all forms of unethical practice.

Submitted manuscripts are first subjected to a preliminary evaluation in terms of author guidelines, formatting requirements, and similarity rate. Manuscripts that do not meet the preliminary evaluation criteria are returned to the authors without entering the peer review process. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two independent reviewers, and a double-blind peer review process is applied.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published, submitted elsewhere, or accepted for publication. All authors are required to have an ORCID ID. For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the necessary documents must be uploaded to the system and the ethical approval statement must be clearly indicated.

Submission, review, and publication processes are free of charge. No fees are charged to authors or readers. The journal is published biannually, in June and December.
