Türkiye’de eğitim bilimlerinde dönüşüm için bir çerçeve

Abstract

Türkiye’de öğretmen arzının sınırı aşması, eğitim fakültelerini tercih eden öğrenci sayısının düşmesi ve Millî Eğitim Akademisi’nin kurulması gibi gelişmeler, eğitim fakülteleri ile eğitim bilimlerinin kapsamlı bir dönüşüm ihtiyacını gündeme getirmektedir. Bu çalışma, söz konusu dönüşüm ihtiyacına yönelik kuramsal ve yapısal öneriler geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yazı, eğitim bilimlerinin tarihsel gelişimi, güncel işlevleri ve geleceğe yönelik açılımları üzerinden kapsamlı bir değerlendirme sunmaktadır. Metinde dört ana tema ele alınmaktadır: (1) Eğitim bilimlerinin öğretmen yetiştirme odaklı geleneksel misyonunun sürdürülebilirliği ve değişen toplumsal beklentiler; (2) disiplinlerarası bakışın güçlendirilmesi ve alanın sosyal bilimlerle bütünleşmesi; (3) araştırma niteliğini artıracak yöntemsel ve kurumsal yenilenme ihtiyacı; (4) eğitim bilimlerinin ulusal öncelikler ile küresel yönelimler arasında denge kurarak politika, diplomasi ve toplum ilişkilerinde daha etkin bir konuma taşınması. Çalışma, bu dört temayı bütüncül bir dönüşüm perspektifiyle tartışmaktadır.

A framework for transformation in educational sciences in Turkiye

Abstract

The saturation of teacher supply in Türkiye, the declining number of students choosing faculties of education, and the establishment of the National Education Academy have collectively highlighted the urgent need for a comprehensive transformation in faculties of education and the field of educational sciences. This paper aims to develop conceptual and structural recommendations that respond to this emerging transformation agenda. It offers an in-depth assessment of the historical evolution, current functions, and future directions of educational sciences in Türkiye. The discussion is organized around four major themes: (1) the sustainability of the traditional teacher-training mission of educational sciences in light of changing societal expectations; (2) strengthening interdisciplinary integration and reconnecting the field with the broader social sciences; (3) enhancing research quality through methodological innovation and institutional capacity-building; and (4) positioning educational sciences more effectively within national priorities and global trends by balancing local contextual needs with international dynamics. Together, these four themes provide a holistic perspective on the future transformation of educational sciences in Türkiye.
