Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of slang and profanity encountered by adolescents in digital environments on their daily language use practices. The research was conducted using data obtained from students at two public high schools. The findings reveal that slang and profanity encountered on social media platforms lead to significant changes in young people's communication styles. When evaluated within the framework of social learning theory, it is understood that language models observed in the digital environment become a powerful learning resource for young people, affecting both their individual communication styles and their social interaction processes within schools. The study demonstrates that social media is a significant factor shaping adolescents' language behavior.

Gençlerin Dijital Ortamda Maruz Kaldıkları Argo ve Küfür İçeriklerinin Dil Kullanımına Yansımaları
