Abstract
The final message of Allah to humanity The Quran is a divine book sent down in the Arabic language. Arabic, due to its nature, is a language that contains a lot of very meaningful words. Therefore, the primary issue in understanding the Quran is knowledge of the Arabic language. However, this feature alone is not enough to understand the divine book. In addition, it is necessary to know the style of the Quran, its language structure, its reasons, and the connections between verses. Another issue at least as important in understanding the Quran is that in the context of the interpretation of the verses, they are narrations reported from the Hz. Prophet and the Companions. Especially in solving the problems encountered in understanding the verses containing very meaningful words, the importance of these narrations increases even more. As a matter of fact, even the Companions, who are also Arabs, sometimes encounter problems in understanding the Quran and Hz. His application to the Prophet confirms this.
The activities aimed at understanding the Quran have continued uninterruptedly from the Companions period until today. Although Muslims have adopted different methods such as narration and perseverance in understanding the last hymn book from the earliest times, they have not been in a debate as to whether the Quran is the word of God. However, Mustafa Ozturk, who has made a name for himself with his studies on the Qur'an and different approaches regarding verses and defends the historicist method adopted by the West on sacred texts in understanding the Quran, it draws attention with some theses that the Quran put forward that it cannot be the word of Allah. In this context, he claims that the ten to thirteenth verses of the Surah al-Qalam are sent down in the context of a certain person and that some words have insulting meanings, so these verses cannot be the words of God. According to him, the Prophet of Allah. The words used in the ten to thirteenth verses of the Surah al-Qalam, in which he explains the types of bad characters that the Prophet should not obey, are blasphemous, in other words, insulting. Therefore, such a phrase cannot be used by the Creator and it is not correct to accept the verses in question as the word of Allah. According to Ozturk, the verses in question are Hz. They are expressions spoken by the Prophet. The argument that Ozturk put forward as a reason for his claim is that the word "zenim", which is mentioned in the thirteenth verse of the relevant surah and which means a child whose father is not known although it contains many meanings, was sent down to the person named Velîd b. Mughîra, who is said to be valad-i zina.
Emphasizing that the relevant verses should be understood in the context of his own evaluations, Ozturk also makes references to some tafsir books on this. Ozturk's aforementioned statements were met with reaction from both academics and a significant segment of the public. This study focuses on the analysis of Ozturk's aforementioned claim. In the study, it is aimed to contribute to the correct understanding of the verses that are the subject of the claim by analyzing the narrations in both hadith and tafsir sources in the context of the interpretation of the relevant verses of the Surah al-Qalam. In addition, the source value of the information Ozturk provided as a basis for him was also investigated and determinations were made regarding the status of the claim in terms of cell. As a result of the research, first of all, it was determined that the information that the verse was sent down about the person in question did not have the value of hiding. In addition, it was seen that Ozturk did not take into account the authentic narrations and the companions' explanations found in the hadith sources in the context of the interpretation of the relevant verses, and he preferred the information that was transmitted in some tafsir sources and did not have source value that would support his own presuppositions, with a selective approach. However, the need for Hz. The importance of the explanations of both the Prophet and the Companions and the holistic approach in understanding the Quran is one of the findings obtained as a result of the research.
