Deniz Yolu Taşımacılığında Freight Forwarder Firmalarının Yaşadığı Sorunlar Üzerine Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Deniz yolu taşımacılığı, istatistiklere göre küresel ticaret akışının sağlanmasında başta ölçek ekonomisi olmak üzere birçok avantaja sahip olan ve en çok tercih edilen taşıma türüdür. Üretim yapan firmalar için üretilen ürünlerin deniz yolu taşımacılığı ile yüke dönüştüğü bu lojistik süreç oldukça önemlidir. Üretici firmaların taşıtmak istedikleri yükleri deniz yolu ile nakletmek istemeleri halinde birçok operasyon konusunda bilgi ve tecrübe sahibi olmaları gerekmektedir. Bu operasyonların takip edilmesi ve yönetilmesi üretici firmalar tarafından yapılması yorucu ve zaman gerektiren işlemlerdir. Deniz yolu taşımacılığında yüklerin ulaşması için gerekli olan tüm operasyonları tek elden yürütülmesi ve takip edilmesi gerektiğinden, bu süreci müşteriler adına takip edecek olan 3. parti lojistik firmaları ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada freight forwarder firmalarının genel yapıları anlatılmaya ve literatür çalışması yapılarak freight forwarder firmalarının yaşadığı sorunlar belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Lojistik sektöründe faaliyet gösteren ve sektörün büyük firmaları arasında olan beş firmanın yetkilileri ile yüz yüze ve online olarak derinlemesine mülakat tekniği ile önceden belirlenen sorular sorulmuştur. Bu çalışmada freight forwarder firmalarının gözünden deniz yolu taşımacılığında yaşadıkları sorunlar incelenmeye çalışılmış ve tarafsız bir şekilde analiz edilerek sorunların sebepleri anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmalarda elde edilen ve belirlenen sorunların ağırlıklı olarak dış kaynaklı sebeplerden meydana geldikleri görülmüştür.

A Study On The Problems Faced By Freight Forwarder Companies In Sea Transportation.

Abstract

According to statistics, maritime transport is the most preferred type of transport, which has many advantages, especially economies of scale, in ensuring the flow of global trade. This logistics process, in which the products produced are transformed into freight by sea transportation, is important for the manufacturing companies. Manufacturers need to have knowledge and experience in many operations if they want to transport the cargo they want to transport by sea. The follow-up and management of these operations are tiring and time-consuming operations performed by the manufacturers. Since all operations required for the transportation of cargo in maritime transportation must be carried out and followed from a single source, 3rd party logistics companies have emerged that will follow this process on behalf of customers. In this study, the general structures of freight forwarder companies have been explained and the problems experienced by freight forwarder companies have been tried to be determined by making a literature study. Predetermined questions were asked to the officials of five companies operating in the logistics sector, which are among the largest companies in the sector, face-to-face and online, by in-depth interview technique. In this study, the problems experienced by freight forwarder companies in maritime transportation were tried to be examined and analyzed in an impartial way and the causes of the problems were explained. It has been observed that the problems obtained and determined in the researches are mainly caused by external causes.
