Abstract
Thyme, which is used widely in phytotherapy is
grown commonly in Turkey. The major potent
components of thyme are thymol and carvacrol. Thymol and carvacrol are observed
in high rates in the varieties found in Turkey. In
this review, the characteristics and usage areas of thyme are covered.

Abstract
Fitoterapide geniş kullanım alanı bulan kekik Türkiye’de yaygın
olarak yetişmektedir. Kekiğin major
etkili bileşenleri timol ve karvakrol’dür. Kekiğin Türkiye’de bulunan
çeşitlerinde timol ve karvakrol yüksek
oranlardadır. Bu derlemede kekiğin özellikleri ve kullanımı
ele
alınmaktadır.
