SPİNOSEREBELLAR ATAKSİLİ OLGUDA SİGARA İÇMENİN YÜRÜYÜŞE ETKİLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Year 2017, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 39 - 42, 14.08.2017

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı spinoserebellar dejenerasyona bağlı ataksi bulunan olguda sigara

içmenin yürüyüş üzerine akut etkilerini incelemekti.

Materyal ve Metot: Bireyin demografik bilgileri, hastalık ve sigara öyküsü kaydedildi. Sigara

INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECTS OF SMOKING ON GAIT IN THE CASE WITH SPINOCEREBELLAR ATAXIA

Year 2017, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 39 - 42, 14.08.2017

Abstract

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the acute effects of smoking on walking with

spinocerebellar degeneration associated ataxia.

Materials and Method: Demographic information, illness and cigarette story of case were recorded.

Before and immediately after cigarette smoking gait analysis was performed with footprint method.

To measure the walking speed, 10 meters walking tast used. In addition, the International

Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale was used. The Berg Balance Scale was used to determine the risk of

falling.

Results: It was seen that decreased step length, increased step width, decreased velocity and tempo

after cigarette smoking of the case with spinocerebellar ataxia with walking and balance disorders.

Conclusion: Because of the risk of falling is high after cigarette smoking while the risk of falling is

moderate, it was recommended not to participate in mobility activities immediately after smoking or

cessation smoking.
