Does the Amount of Urine Leakage Affect Life Quality in Women with Stress Urinary Incontinence? A Retrospective Study

Year 2017, Volume: 22 Issue: 2, 107 - 113, 27.03.2017
https://doi.org/10.21673/anadoluklin.296619

Abstract

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to designate the effects
of the urine leakage amount on the perceived quality of life and dryness
sensation in women with stress urinary incontinence.

Materials and Methods: 232 women with stress urinary incontinence were
divided into 3 groups as light, moderate and intense/very intense urinary
leakage. Following the recording of the physical and socio-demographic features
and period of urinary incontinence complaints of the women, their perceived
dryness and perceived life qualities were measured by using the visual analog
scale, and their life qualities were measured by using the questionnaire of
life quality of patients with urinary incontinence.

Results: There were no differences found between the physical
and socio-demographical features of the women with stress urinary incontinence
based on the urine leakage amounts. There were no differences between the life
qualities, perceived dryness sensation, perceived life qualities and the
periods of urinary incontinence complaints of the women with moderate and
intense/very intense urinary incontinence, and there were differences found
between the women with light urinary incontinence and these two groups.

Discussion and Conclusion: The perceived life qualities of the women with light
stress urinary incontinence were better in comparison to the other two groups,
and their perceived dryness sensation was less intense. The perception of the
quality of life and dryness of women with moderate to severe stress urinary
incontinence was similar.

Stres Üriner İnkontinanslı Kadınlarda Kaçırılan İdrar Miktarı Yaşam Kalitesini Etkiler mi? Retrospektif Bir Çalışma

Year 2017, Volume: 22 Issue: 2, 107 - 113, 27.03.2017
https://doi.org/10.21673/anadoluklin.296619

Abstract

Amaç: Bu
çalışmada stres üriner inkontinanslı kadınlarda kaçırılan idrar miktarının
algılanan yaşam kalitesi ve algılanan kuruluk hissine etkisini belirlemek
amaçlandı.

Gereç-Yöntemler:
Stres
