The county {== ilçe) of Adilcevaz of the Province (= il) of Bitlis is situated on the North West coast of Lake Van .Tlıe fortified city, originally a Urartian Fortress and called Kef Kalesi (= fortress) is established on a volcanic hili top (Pl. 1) approximalely 6 Km North of Adilcevaz^.
