In 1974 an East Greek oinochoe was pıırchased by our ınuscum'.
This trefoil-moutlıed, cylindrical-necked and spherical-bodied vase attracted my attention both bccausc of its period and because of thc peculiarity of thc figures on its surfacc. I thought it would be worth- while to study this work and acquaint othcr archacologists with it1 2.The oinochoe, as it came to us, was in a very bad State of restora- tion; it was composed of many broken fragments, badly assembled.
Besides thc fact that it was badly restored, the vase, upon eloser exa- mination, had a peculiarity about it that caught my attention. Namely, although the vase appcared to be whole, ali of the ncck and some frag ments on thc body did not belong to it, since both thc elay composing them and the characteristics of the figures on them were different.
