Ranking of Provinces in terms of Effective Use of Accommodation Capacity by DEA Based TOPSIS Method
Abstract
In this study is examined that provinicals rankings according to efficiency level of the using accommodation capacity. ERM-DT (Data Envelopment Analysis and TOPSIS-based Event Ranking) method was used to measure and rank the efficiency of decision-making units (DMU- provinces). This method uses an approach combining Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and TOPSIS preference order technique. In ERM-DT, the inputs and outputs of the production function are created according to the DEA method, and then the values of the TOPSIS Decision Matrix are reached by using the basic efficiency formula. ERM-DT allows to the decision maker the selection of the weight of available criteria required for the decision point. In this context, the entropy method is used in determining the weights of the criteria in the study. According to ERM-DT and entropy method, the efficient use of accommodation capacity of the provinces were formed respectively; Konya, Afyon, Gaziantep, Mersin, Balıkesir, Bursa, Nevşehir, Aydın, Ankara, İzmir, Antalya, Muğla and İstanbul.
