Tumor Formation in Sunflower Using A281 Strain of Agrobacterium tumefaciens

Abstract

One week old in vitro plantlets of nine lines selected from genotype Ekiz of sunflower were used in this study. Leaf, petiole and immature cotyledon explants from each line were treated with oncogenic A281 strain of Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Tumors induction started on all explants with in 6-7 days of culture and 100% tumor formation was observed on all explants after 4 weeks of culture

Yabani Agrobacterium tumefaciens A281 Hattıyla Ayçiçeğinde Tümör Oluşumu

Abstract

Bu çalışmada ayçiçeğinin Ekiz genotipinden seçilen 9 farklı hatta ait in vitro gelişen bir haftalık bitkicikler kullanılmıştır. Her hattan yaprak, yaprak sapı ve olgunlaşmış kotiledon eksplanları bitkiciklerden izole edilerek Agrobacterium tumefaciens’in onkogenik A281 hattıyla inokule edilmişlerdir. Tümör oluşumu eksplantlar inoküle edildikten 6-7 gün sonra başlamış olup, 4 hafta sonra denen ayçiçeği hatlarına ait bütün eksplantlarda tümör oluşumu gözlenmiştir
