Bu çalışma Kur’an’da kıssası genişçe anlatılan Hz. İbrahim’in vasıf ve üstünlüklerini tespit etmeye yöneliktir. Hz. İbrahim tüm ilahi dinlerin kabul ettiği bir peygamberdir. Müşrik Araplar, Yahudiler, Hıristiyanlar ve Müslümanlar nezdinde saygın konuma sahiptir. Hz. Kur’an Hz. İbrahim’in üstün meziyetlerine birçok ayette temas edilmiştir. İbrahim’in vasıf ve üstünlüklerini Kur’an bağlamında izah etmek ve Hz. İbrahim’in Kur’an’da anlatılma amacı ile ilgili fikir vermeye çalışmaktır. Makalede Kur’an’da Hz. İbrahim’den çokça bahsedilmiş olmasının, bütün ilahi din sahiplerinin Hz. İbrahim’i kabul etmeleri ve kendilerinin onun yolundan gittiklerini iddia etmeleri sebebiyle olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Allah (cc) Hz. İbrahim’in vasıf ve üstünlüklerini sıralamış ve adeta onlara, ‘işte gerçek İbrahim bu. Bakın ve kendinizin ona ne derece yakın olduğunuzu görün’ demiştir.

Prophet Abraham is mentioned in the Meccan surahs because the Arabs considered him to be their ancestor. He was mentioned in the Madani surahs, especially the Surahs Baqara and Al-i Imran, within the scope of the fight against the People of the Book, who accepted him as a leader, just like the Arabs. Therefore, a Prophet who is mentioned so much . It is necessary to find the answer to the question of what high degree he had in the life of Muhammad and the believers. For this purpose, determining his value in the eyes of God and people and his rank among other prophets; It is very important to know his morality, superior character and struggle for monotheism. Prophet Abraham is one of the prophets about whom there is extensive information both in tafsir and sirah literature and in books and articles written in the modern period. His historical identity, his method of invitation and his story in the Quran have been discussed from different angles. In this study, the qualities and superiorities of Prophet Abraham, which are scattered in various works, in the context of the Quran, are listed in items. As a matter of fact, this method will make it easier to understand the subject.
The Quran highlights the struggle for monotheism in Prophet Abraham's real life, the invitation method he used in this struggle, and the patience and submission he showed. Prophet Abraham received the grace and favor of Allah because he successfully passed all the tests he was exposed to in this struggle and fulfilled his prophetic duty flawlessly. He is a prophet who became a symbol of monotheism by raising the walls of Beytullah together with his son Hazrat Ishmael. When Prophet Abraham invited his people to believe in Allah, he used reason and tried to convince people based on rational data. Prophet Abraham is a great example for all people in terms of his honesty, loyalty, gentleness of heart and devotion to Allah. There is nothing like the patience and submission he showed when he left his child and wife in a valley not suitable for agriculture next to the Kaaba, when he was ordered to sacrifice his son Ishmael and was thrown into the fire by the cruel king. Allah granted children and grandchildren to Prophet Abraham, who successfully passed these difficult tests. He made him a leader, gave prophethood and the book to his generation, and included him among the elite in this world and the righteous in the afterlife.
Because of all these aspects, Almighty Allah explained in the Quran what role he played in inviting people to monotheism and reminded believers of the lessons, consolations and warnings to be learned from his life. The Quran has told his story in detail so that it can be understood how high a rank he had in the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the believers. In addition, the explanation of Prophet Abraham's qualities and superiorities in the context of the Quran is evidence of what an important example and leader he was for all people.
