Abstract

Antrhropometric measurements have great significance in evaluating an individual's age and health status as well as the public health. Body weight, height and bodymass index (BMI) are the most frequently used techniques as antrhropometric measurements when determining an individual's nutrition, general health status and obesity. In this study, the relationship between general health status and anthropometric measurements are studied in women and men aged between 18-65 and aged over 65 in Tabriz, Iran in 2016-2017. A total of one-thousand individuals from both sexes have voluntarily participated. In this population sample, height and weight measurement were taken. BMI were calculated from weight(kg)/height(m2) formula. BMI value is 26.58 in women, which is found to be higher than 26.27 in men. When it comes to general public health status, goitre, blood pressure, diabetes, cerebrovascular diseases, calcification were found more prevalent in women and associated with their BMI value. Cerebrovasculer diseases are found more prevalent in men in comparison to women

İran-Tebriz’de Yaşayan Yetişkin Kadın ve Erkeklerde Antropometrik Özelliklerin Tespiti ve Sağlık Durumu ile İlişkisi

Year 2017, Issue: 33, 35 - 49, 30.06.2017
