The old age period is a process of change that affects both the individual and society, which is in the natural flow of life and can be experienced from a biological, psychological, economic or social point of view. The concept of attitude is a state that affects the thoughts, feelings and behavior of individuals in relation to objects, ideas, events and other people. Attitudes are shaped in the first 25 years of life, and the most important factors that ensure positive behavior of individuals towards the elderly are emotions and attitudes. From this point of view, in this study, it is aimed to examine the attitudes of young adult individuals towards old age according to the variables of gender, economic level, family structure, whether there is an elderly person with whom a close relationship has been established, the memories left by the elderly, the parents’ approach to the elderly, and whether or not they have given care to an elderly person before. The sample of the study consists of 200 randomly selected young individuals. ‘Personal Information Form’ and ‘Attitude Scale for the Elderly’ were used to collect the data. The research is a descriptive study based on relational screening model. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistical methods, independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. As a result of the analysis, while the attitudes of young adults towards the elderly do not show a significant difference according to gender, economic level, family structure, closeness with an elderly person, and whether there is an elderly person who is cared for; It was concluded that there was a significant difference with the elderly with whom closeness was established according to the variables of memory and parents’ approach to the elderly.
