Results of open reduction and AO-plating technique in the treatment of humeral shaft fractures

Abstract

26 patients with humeral shaft fracture were treated by open reduction and AO plating technique in the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic of Haseki Hospital between 1983-1993. The results of 18 patients which could be followed-up were evaluated and discussed. In the treatment of humeral shaft fractures it was concluded that open reduction and AO plating technique can be an alternative to conservative treatment in the selected patient groups and with the appropriate indications.
