Results of open reduction and AO-plating technique in the treatment of humeral shaft fractures

Öz

26 patients with humeral shaft fracture were treated by open reduction and AO plating technique in the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Clinic of Haseki Hospital between 1983-1993. The results of 18 patients which could be followed-up were evaluated and discussed. In the treatment of humeral shaft fractures it was concluded that open reduction and AO plating technique can be an alternative to conservative treatment in the selected patient groups and with the appropriate indications.

Öz

Sağlık Bakanlığı Haseki Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniği'nde Ekim 1983-Haziran 1993 tarihleri arasında humerus cisim kırığı olan 26 olguya açık redüksiyon ve AO plağı ile osteosentez uygulandı. Takibi yapılabilen 18 olgunun sonuçları değerlendirildi. Humerus cisim kırıklarının tedavisinde açık redüksiyon ve AO plağı ile osteosentezin uygun endikasyonlar ve seçilmiş hasta gruplarında konservatif tedaviye alternatif olabiIeceği sonucuna varıldı.
