The surgical treatment of the fractures of the odontoid process

Abstract

In this study the problems related with the diagnosis and treatment of the fractures of the odontoid process are studied. Controversial reports in the literature are reviewed. Nine cases were presented, six of them were treated succesfully by C1-C2 posterior fusion.
