Scriptores Historiae Augustae: Roma İmparatoru Antoninus Pius’un Çevirisi

Abstract

    Scriptores Historiae Augustae, Hadrianus’tan
Numerianus’a kadar olan Roma İmparatorlarının, (Augusti), muhtemel varislerinin
(Caesares) ve bu dönemde imparatorluğa geçmek için hak iddia edenlerin
(Tyranni) biyografilerinden (otuz) oluşan ve çeşitli yazarlara atfedilen bir
yapıttır ve Roma İmparatorluk tarihi üzerine araştırma yapanlar için önemlidir.
Bu makalede Iulius Capitolinus
tarafından yazılan Roma’nın Augustus’tan sonra en uzun süre tahtta kalan ikinci
İmparatoru Antoninus Pius’un biyografisi Latinceden Türkçeye çevrilmiş ve
irdelenmiştir. Antoninus “Beş İyi
İmparator” olarak da adlandırılan dönemde (M.S. 96-180),  M.S. 10 Temmuz 138- ve 9 Mart 161 yılları
arasında Roma İmparatorluğu yapmıştır. 
Genel olarak barışçıl bir siyaset izleyen Antoninus,  ekonomi politikalarıyla da  ünlüydü. 
Ayrıca, M.S. 135-136 yılları arasında Asia (Anadolu) proconsullüğü yapmış
ve burada parlak bir yöneticilik göstermiştir. İmparatorluğu
sırasında Anadolu’nun batısında meydana gelen depremler nedeniyle şehirler
büyük hasar görmüş ve Antoninus bunların onarılması hususunda özenli
davranmıştır.

Scriptores Historiae Augustae: Translation of Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius

Abstract

    Scriptores Historiae Augustae is a work of various authors from the biographies (thirty) of the Roman Emperors from Hadrian to Numerian, (Augusti), probable heirs (Caesares) and pretenders to the throne  at this time (Tyranni) and It is This work is important for those who research roman empire history. In this article, the biography of Emperor Antoninus Pius, which was written by Julius Capitolinus, for the and the second longest-reigning emperor after Augustus was translated into Turkish and examined. Antoninus is also known as one of the "Five Good Emperors" (A.D. 96-180),. Between 10 July 138 A.D- 9 March 161 A.D. , he was  Roman emperor. Following a generally peaceful politics, Antoninus was also famous for his economic policies. In A.D. 135-136 he worked as a the proconsul of Asia (Anatolia), where he showed successful management. During his reign, the cities were seriously damaged due to the earthquakes that took place in the western part of Anatolia and Antoninus was diligent in repairing them.
