PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES OF

ARCHIVUM ANATOLICUM/ANADOLU ARŞİVLERİ

 

1.    ARCHIVUM ANATOLICUM is published annually in one volume and two issues (twice a year) in the months of June and December by the Department of Ancient Languages and Cultures by the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography of Ankara University. The sections of the department responsible for the publication of the journal are Ancient Greek Language and Literature, Hittitology, Latin Language and Literature and Sumerology/Assyriology. Therefore, only original articles falling especially within these fields will be accepted for publication.

2.     ARCHIVUM ANATOLICUM is a peer review periodical.

3.      Articles sent for publication should have not been previously published in another journal, not even in a different language.

4.      The authors must obtain their ORCID numbers from https://orcid.org/register prior to the submission of their manuscripts.  

5.   The authors must register first to the “dergipark” from the address https://dergipark.org.tr/login then submit their manuscripts by following the steps of the submission (https://dergipark.org.tr/journal/2467/submission/start).

6.      The manuscripts should be loaded as WORD format that does not include the name(s) of the author(s).

7.      Articles should be written in one of the following languages: Turkish, English, German, French or Italian.

8.      Articles should include a Turkish and English abstracts maximal 200 words under the title of “Öz” (for Turkish) an “Abstract” (for English). The articles should be placed at the beginning of the article just after the title and author’s name. If the article is in English, the English abstract does not need an English title. If in Turkish, there is no need to put a Turkish title to the Turkish abstract.

9.  The number of keywords should be more than four and less than six.

10.  The name of the author(s) should be placed just under the title of the article, marked with an asterisk (*) to give information about his or her title, e-mail address, location etc.

11.  Abbreviations in the article should comply with the rules of the publications given as examples below:

    AHw      Akkadisches Handwörterbuch – Wiesbaden 1958-1981.

    CAD       The Assyrian Dictionary of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago – Chicago 1956vd.

    CHD       The Hittite Dictionary of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago – Chicago 1980vd.

    HW2       Hethitisches of Wörterbuch – Heidelberg 1975vd.

    OCD       The Oxford Classical Dictionary – Oxford 1970vd.

12.  Bibliographical references and footnotes should be given in accordance with the examples below: (The Chicago Manual of Style). For more examples:

13.  The manuscript should be printed on only one side of A4 size paper with 4,5 cm margins left, 4,5 cm margins right, 5,6 cm margins at the top and 5,6 cm at the bottom. Articles should not exceed 20 pages. The type should be Times New Roman 11 point, single spaced and justified. Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of the page, Times New Roman 9 point and justified with less line space. The visual material should not exceed 10 pages (if your article or visual material requires more pages than the allowed amount, please write to get in touch with the principal editor beforehand).

14.  The papers must be sent with their Ithenticate report (similarity report).

15.   The author(s)  should indicate the source(s) of funding for the research in a footnote. 

16.  We reserve the right to accept or reject the articles sent to us.
