A STUDY ON THE SOME KIWI PLANTATIONS IN EASTERN BLACK SEA REGION
Abstract
This study, aiming the investigation of the kiwi plantations in the eastern Black Sea Region, deal with some plantations built in this region. These areas have slopes of lower than 50%, but average slope is 15%. Altitudes of these plantations reaches to 700 m, but average altitude is 190 m. These areas have sandy loam soil type, pH is from 4.4 to 7.0, and average it is 6.04. These soils have 1.41% organic matter. These foundations for plantations were formed as T-columns using iron, wood, and concrete. Average foundation height is 1.98 m, interval-distance is 5x5 m. Living percentage is varying from 60% to 100%, and average is 91%. Kiwi is a highly compatible species for Eastern Black Sea Region. And it is vital to follow certain techniques to get high adaptation.
