Picasso’yu, Pan’ın İzinde Keşfetmek Üzerine

Öz

Yirminci yüzyılın sanat dehası olarak nitelendirilen Pablo Picasso’nun sanatının genel olarak üsluba bağlı olmadığı şeklinde bir değerlendirme yapılsa da, aslında resim içinde resim olarak ifade edilebilecek kendine özgü bir üsluba sahip olduğu belirtilebilir. Sanatçının kendine özgü bu üslubunu destekleyen Pan resimleri hakkında yapılan bu çalışma, Picasso’nun neden Pan arketipine yoğunlaştığı ve çıkış noktasının ne olduğu üzerine bir araştırma olarak hazırlanmıştır. Picasso için Pan figürü küçük yaşlardan itibaren önem kazanmış, ilki onüç yaşında olmak üzere, ilerleyen yaşlarında bu konudaki çalışmalarına yoğunluk vermiş ve yüzlerce Pan görseli üretmiştir. Sanatçının Pan’a olan ilgisi Antik Yunan ve Roma klasiklerine duyduğu hayranlıkla anlamlandırılabilir. Bu makale, Picasso'nun, resimlerinde görünenin ötesine uzanan anlatım gücünün, İkinci Dünya Savaşının sonunda, 1946 yılında yerleştiği Fransa'nın, Antibes kentinde yapmış olduğu bilinen dokuz adet Pan portresi örneği üzerinden, arketipler bağlamında bir keşfi ve yorumlanmasına dayanmaktadır. Çalışmamız nitel araştırma ve analiz yöntemi ile yapılmış ve bitim noktasında, Picasso’nun Pan’la kendisini özdeşleştirerek çıktığı içsel yolculuğu ile ruhunu tamamen bağımsız bırakarak kendi kutsalını keşfettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

On Exploring Picasso in Pan’s Footsteps

Abstract

Although it is evaluated that the art of Pablo Picasso, who is described as the genius of the twentieth century, does not depend on the style in general, it can be stated that he actually has a unique style that can be expressed as a painting within a painting. This study on Pan paintings, which supports the artist's unique style, was prepared as a research on why Picasso concentrated on the Pan archetype and what his starting point was. The figure of Pan gained importance for Picasso from an early age; he concentrated on his work on this subject in his later years, the first of whom was 13 years old, and produced hundreds of Pan images. The artist's interest in Pan can be explained by his admiration for the Ancient Greek and Roman classics. This article is based on an exploration and interpretation of Picasso's power of expression in his paintings, which extends beyond the visible, in the context of archetypes, through nine known examples of Pan portraits he made in Antibes, France, where he settled in 1946, at the end of the Second World War. Our study was conducted with qualitative research and analysis method, and at the end, it was concluded that Picasso discovered his own sacred by leaving his soul completely independent with his inner journey by identifying himself with Pan.
