Investigation of the Relationship of Eccentric Knee Flexor Muscle Strength Evaluated with Nordic Hamstring Device (NordBord) and Dynamic Balance

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between eccentric knee flexor muscle strength assessed with NordBord hamstring device and dynamic balance. A total of 52 active athletes, 22 female and 30 male, aged between 18-25 years, participated in the study. Anthropometric measurements of the athletes; height, weight and BMI (body mass index), eccentric knee flexor muscle strength measurements; NordBord (ValdPerformance, Australia) hamstring device, dynamic balance measurements were measured with CSMI TecnoBody PK-252 isokinetic balance device and recorded in the evaluation form. The data obtained were analysed using SPSS.23 package programme. In the analyses, comparisons between groups were statistically evaluated by independent sample t-test and Pearson correlation analyses were used to determine the relationship between the groups. The eccentric knee flexor muscle strengths of the participants were significantly different according to gender, and the strengths of men were found to be higher than those of women (p<0.01). When the relationship between the values of female athletes was examined; a relationship was found between the height variable and dynamic balance score, and the balance deteriorated as the height increased. In addition, some balance values improved as the eccentric knee flexor muscle strength increased in women. In male athletes, it was found that weight gain caused an increase in eccentric knee flexor muscle strength. In addition, it was found that the increase in relative strength in the non-dominant leg of men improved the balance score in the dominant leg. As a result; when eccentric knee flexor muscle strength and dynamic balance in athletes were analysed according to gender, we can say that there are relationships between variables in some parameters and will contribute to the literature.

Nordic Hamstring Cihazıyla (NordBord) Değerlendirilen Eksantrik Diz Fleksör Kas Kuvvetinin Dinamik Denge ile İlişkisinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; NordBord hamstring cihazı ile değerlendirilen eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvvetinin dinamik denge ile ilişkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya; 18-25 yaş aralığında, gönüllü 22 kadın ve 30 erkek toplam 52 aktif sporcu katılmıştır. Sporcuların antropometrik ölçümleri; boy, kilo ve VKİ (vücut kitle indeksi), eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvveti; NordBord (ValdPerformance, Avusturalya) hamstring cihazı ile, dinamik denge ölçümleri CSMI TecnoBody PK-252 izokinetik denge cihazı ile ölçülerek değerlendirme formuna kaydedilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS.23 paket programı kullanılara analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde, gruplar arası karşılaştırmaları bağımsız örnek t-testi ile, aralarındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi için Pearson korelasyon analizleri ile istatistiksel açıdan değerlendirilmiştir. Katılımcıların eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvvetleri cinsiyete göre anlamlı düzeyde farklı çıkmış, erkeklerin kuvvetleri kadınlara göre fazla bulunmuştur (p<0,01). Kadın sporcuların değerlerinin ilişkisine bakıldığında; boy değişkeni ile dinamik denge skoru arasında ilişki bulunmuş, boy uzunluğu arttıkça denge bozulmuştur. Ayrıca kadınlarda eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvveti arttıkça bazı denge değerleri iyiye gitmiştir. Erkek sporcularda; kilo artışının eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvvetinde artışa sebep olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca erkeklerin dominant olmayan bacaklarında ki relatif kuvvet artışı, dominant bacakta denge skorunu iyileştirdiği bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak; sporcularda eksantrik diz fleksör kas kuvvetleri ve dinamik dengeleri cinsiyete göre incelendiğinde değişkenler arasında bazı parametrelerde ilişkiler bulunduğunu ve literatüre katkı sağlayacağını söyleyebiliriz.
