Puff Bar Use Among Adolescents And Associated Factors: The Case Of Artvin Province

Abstract

This study aimed to examine puff bar use among adolescents living in Artvin, Türkiye, and to identify associated individual and environmental factors. This descriptive and correlational study was conducted with 241 adolescents aged 12–18 years between July 1 and August 30, 2025. Data were collected using a 20-item questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square tests. Adolescents’ puff bar use and awareness levels were associated with residential area, family structure, parental education, perceived income level, and social media use. Puff bar use among adolescents is influenced by multiple socio-demographic and environmental factors. Preventive interventions and awareness programs targeting adolescents, particularly in relation to social media exposure, are recommended.

ERGENLER ARASINDA PUFF BAR KULLANIMI VE ETKİLEYEN FAKTÖRLER; ARTVİN İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Artvin ilinde yaşayan ergenler arasında puff bar kullanım durumunu incelemek ve ilişkili bireysel ve çevresel faktörleri belirlemektir. Tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı tipteki bu çalışma, 01 Temmuz–30 Ağustos 2025 tarihleri arasında Artvin’de yaşayan 12–18 yaş arası 241 ergen ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler 20 sorudan oluşan bir soru formu ile toplanmış ve tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile ki-kare analizleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Ergenlerin puff bar kullanım ve bilgi düzeylerinin yerleşim yeri, aile yapısı, ebeveyn eğitim düzeyi, algılanan gelir durumu ve sosyal medya kullanımı ile ilişkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ergenlerde puff bar kullanımı çok boyutlu sosyo-demografik ve çevresel faktörlerden etkilenmektedir. Özellikle sosyal medya maruziyetine yönelik farkındalık ve önleme programlarının geliştirilmesi önerilmektedir.
