Abstract

ÖZET
Covid-19 salgın süreci, küresel ekonomi ve finansal piyasalar için en büyük tehdittir. Ülke çapındaki kilitlenmeler ve sosyal uzaklaşma normları nedeniyle dijital teknolojilerin kullanılmasında kaçınılmaz bir sonuç doğurmuştur. Dünyanın her yerindeki bireyler ve kuruluşlar tarafından yeni çalışma ve yaşam biçimleri oluşmuştur. Ayrıca, Covid-19 salgını dünyada çevrimiçi temassız ödeme ve e-ticaret hacminin arttığını göstermiştir. Bu nedenle, bu çalışma Covid-19 salgını sürecinin finansal bankacılık sistemi üzerindeki etkisini ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, dijital ödeme sisteminin Covid-19 pandemi sürecine etkisini 2019-2020 yılları arasında banka ve kredi kartı ödeme tutarındaki gelişmelerle gösterilmiş ve ayrıca GSYİH ile kredi kartı harcamaları arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, Granger nedensellik testinin GSYİH'den kredi kartına tek yönlü ilişkinin varlığını ve aralarında iki yönlü bir nedenselliğin olmadığını göstermiştir.

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Covid-19 pandemic process is the biggest threats to the global economy and financial markets. It has result in an inevitable result in the use of digital technologies due to the nationwide lockdowns and social distancing norms. New ways of work and life have occurred by people and organizations all over the world. Furthermore, the Covid-19 pandemic has showed that increased volume of online-contactless payment and e-commerce in the world. Therefore, this study aims to has handled the impact of Covid-19 pandemic process on financial banking system. In this paper has been focused on analyzing the digital payment system's response to the Covid-19 pandemic process by showing developments of debit and credit card payment amount from 2019 to 2020 and also to find a causality linked between GDP and credit card spending. The findings have showed that the Granger causality test runs one-way from GDP to credit card and no other second way causality among them.
