Dynamic Ankle-Foot Orthosis (DAFO)

Year 2011, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 7 - 13, 01.10.2011

Abstract

the approaches commonly used in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. Due to the personalized footplate with its very thin and flexible structure, DAFO is a supramalleoler orthosis is that supports the dynamic arch of the foot, provides the stabilization of the subtalar joint and helps tone inhibition. When compared with the other developed foot-ankle orthoses, Standard Ankle-Foot Orhosis (AFO), Tone Reduction AFO and Neurophysiologic AFO, that help walking and enhance other functions, DAFO gets an
advantageous position in terms of dynamic impact
on balance, support arches and providing full

DİNAMİK AYAK BİLEK ORTEZİ ‘DAFO’

Year 2011, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 7 - 13, 01.10.2011

Abstract

Serebral paralizili çocukların tedavisinde oldukça sık kullanılan ortez yaklaşımlarından biri de Dinamik Ayak-Bilek Ortezi olarak bilinen DAFO’dur. DAFO oldukça ince ve esnek yapısı ile kişiye uygun oluşturulmuş tabanlığı sayesinde ayağın dinamik arklarını destekleyen, subtalar eklemde stabilizasyonu sağlayan, tonus inhibisyonuna yardımcı olan supramalleoler bir ortezdir. Geliştirilen diğer yürüme ve fonksiyonları artırmaya yardımcı ayak-bilek ortezleri, Standart AFO, Tonus Azaltıcı AFO (Tone Reduction AFO) ve Nörofizyolojik AFO ile karşılaştırılan çalışmalar; dinamik denge üzerindeki etkisi, arkları desteklemesi, tam teması sağlaması, DAFO’yu bu ortezlerden avantajlı konuma getirmektedir
