İspanyol Gribinde Kıtalararası Devinim: İngiltere ve Amerika

Abstract

Antik Yunanistan'da Batı tıbbının babası sayılan Doktor Hippocrates'in grip semptomlarını belirtmesi ile başlayan grip salgını tarihinin Birinci Dünya Savaşı'nın en az savaş kadar yıkıcı etkisi olan ve dünya genelinde milyonlarca insanın hayatına mal olan İspanyol gribi anlatılmıştır. İspanyol gribinin başlangıcı hakkındaki hipotezler, teşhisi, tedavi girişimleri ve yıllar sonra bulunan detayları, salgını en ağır şekilde yaşayan iki ülke olan İngiltere ve ABD örnekleri ile o ülkelerdeki politik ve sosyolojik gelişmelerle birlikte anlatılmıştır.
