Geriatrik Bireylerde Düşme Riskini Önleme Stratejisi Bakımından Ayakkabı Ergonomisi

Abstract

Geriatrik bireylerde düşmeler başlıca geriatrik sendromlardan biridir ve bu popülasyondaki kırılganlığın açık bir göstergesidir. Düşmelerin sonuçları arasında yaralanmalar, kırıklar, immobilite, depresyon, fiziksel bağımlılık ve sağlık sistemleri üzerinde önemli bir ekonomik yük yer almaktadır. Düşmeler ilk olduğunda ya da tekrarladığında, düşme nedeninin birçok faktöre bağlı olduğu göz önüne alınırsa, düşme riskinin çok faktörlü değerlendirmesi de önem kazanmaktadır. Düşmelere bağlı yaralanmalar ergonomik olmayan ayakkabı seçimiyle ilişkili olabileceğinden, sağlık uzmanları tarafından ayakkabı özellikleri düşme riskini önleme stratejisi bakımından değerlendirilmektedir. İyi oturan uygun ayakkabılar geriatrik bireylerin yürümesine yardımcı olmaktadır. Bu bireyler arasında çıplak ayakla dolaşmak, ayakkabısız çorap giymek ve evde terlik giymek yaygındır. Bu nedenle düşme riski olan geriatrik bireylerde mümkün olduğunca kapalı alanlarda ayakkabı giymeleri önerilmektedir. Düşme riskini azaltmak amacıyla hem evin içinde hem de dışında kaymaz tabanlı, daha iyi oturan ayakkabıların kullanılması tavsiye edilir. Geriatrik popülasyonda konfor, daha iyi denge ve daha az yaralanma riski sağlamak için alçak topuklu, kaymaz tabanlı ve daha geniş çerçeveli ayakkabıların kullanımı bu alanda yapılan çalışmaların sonuçları ile desteklenmektedir.
