ASSOS contributes to the development of the social sciences and humanities by publishing original research and review articles in these fields. 

ASSOS publishes research articles in the field of history, based on archival sources, covering the period from antiquity to the present day, without any regional restrictions. For geography, it includes articles focusing on the relationship between humans and the environment. For archaeology, it publishes articles on prehistory, the Bronze and Chalcolithic Ages, the Roman and Byzantine periods covered by classical archaeology, industrial archaeology, Islamic archaeology and Ottoman archaeology. Art History addresses topics such as pre-Islamic Turkish art, Turkish-Islamic art, Byzantine-Christian iconography and art, and Roman and European art history. In the field of Turkish literature, it features critical and theoretical articles on works written in Turkish, ranging from divan literature to modern Turkish literature. In the field of English literature, the journal publishes studies based on English-language literary works produced in English-speaking Anglo-Saxon countries. Sociology covers all sociological sub-disciplines dealing with human and social relations. Works such as film criticism and film reviews fall outside the scope of the journal. In the field of philosophy, all sub-disciplines, including logic, are considered, and for psychology, sub-disciplines other than clinical studies are accepted. Studies falling within the scope of educational sciences, such as psychological counselling and guidance, are not accepted for consideration. In the field of linguistics, the journal covers sub-disciplines such as linguistics, language studies, phonetics, morphology and semantics.

ASSOS journal accepts research articles, review articles, book reviews and translations. Letters to the editor and technical notes are not accepted.
