Author Guidelines

The main text of research and review articles should be no fewer than 5,000 words and no more than 12,000 words. Book reviews should contain a minimum of 1,000 and a maximum of 3,000 words.

The citation of sources, the creation of a reference list and the use of references in the text must follow the APA 6 (American Psychological Association) style.

For more detailed information on the use of APA 6, please click here: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/references/examples

General Rule: (Author’s surname, year of publication, page number). If the author’s name is mentioned in the text, it is sufficient to state the year in brackets after the author’s surname. If the work cited has two authors, the surnames of both authors must be given in brackets. If the work has three to five authors, all authors’ surnames must be listed in brackets in the first citation. In subsequent citations, it is sufficient to state only the first author’s surname, followed by ‘et al.’ (and others). If there are more than five authors, it is sufficient to cite only the first author’s surname, followed by ‘et al.’

When citing a work in quotation marks, the page number must always be provided. If there are no quotation marks and the citation refers only to the author of the work, it is sufficient to provide the surname and the year of publication. If the author’s name is mentioned but the author’s argument is quoted without quotation marks, the year of publication may be given immediately after the author’s name in the text.

E.g.: The term ‘disaster’ is defined as ‘a natural, technological or human-induced event that causes physical, economic and social losses for the whole of society or certain sections thereof, halts or disrupts normal life and human activities, and exceeds the affected society’s capacity to cope’. (Aldemir et al., 2014, p. 23).

Prown (1982, p. 2) regards these objects as evidence of human history but suggests that they fall short of abstract, intellectual and spiritual elements.

Footnotes: These must be written in 9-point font, with single line spacing and justified alignment; they must be separated from the main text by a footnote line. A 6 pt space must be left between footnotes.
