In order to better understand texts and discourses in world languages, verbs are classified in terms of morphological, syntactic and semantic. According to these classifications, sensory verbs that start the perception process are considered as a type of mental verb. Perception verbs have very compact frequency because of being mental process initiator. Recently, there has been an increased interest in the classification of verbs and "mental verb" in linguistics studies, and mental verbs have been started to be determined based on the works of Turkish historical periods. However, the position of the verb within these classifications is not precise and final. The meaning entries of a verb can change according to the valency information. Valency, which is expressing the obligatory and optional gaps that word types such as verb, preposition, noun, etc. open in the management capacity, emerges in logical, syntactic, and semantic dimensions. It is not possible to categorize the verbs that reveal polysemy in a single verb class. One of the main reasons for verbs to change categories is the polysemy of the verb. This polysemy can occur with a change in one of the aforementioned levels of the request. In this study, the effects of the valency on the change of the verb class were determined with examples from the sensory verbs in Abul Gazi Bahadır Han's work titled Şecere-i Terakime. Basic sensory verbs expressing touching, smelling, hearing, seeing and tasting formed the study of the article. Thus, the effect of the polysemy of the sense verbs on the valency categories was tried to be determined based on a historical text.
