Abstract
The texts written in the first period of Old Anatolian Turkish contain rich language features and vocabulary in terms of following the stages and development process of the historical Turkish scientific language. Hamza-nâmes written by Hamzavî in a plain and understandable language are also important sources in this context. Volume 71 of Hamza-nâmes, XIV. Written as copyright in the 19th century and XIX. century was copied. This work, which has continued for five centuries, has both the Old Turkish and Old Anatolian Turkish, as well as the linguistic features and vocabulary of the period in which it was copied. Because the work is rich in terms of idioms and vocabulary, idioms are examined in this study. The idioms determined in the text are discussed in terms of structure, concept and meaning features. In the introduction part of the study, general information about idioms is given and the 71st volume of Hamza-nâme is introduced in terms of idiom vocabulary. In the analysis part, the idioms identified in the text are divided under three headings according to their structure, concept and usage characteristics, respectively. In terms of structure, idioms are divided into groups by examining according to the idiom features in the compound verb and sentence structure. According to their conceptual characteristics, idioms that meet the concepts related to body organs are classified as idioms made with numbers and idioms that meet abstract concepts. Idioms used unchanged in Turkey Turkish according to their usage characteristics, idioms with changed forms in Turkey Turkish and idioms that have fallen out of use in Turkey Turkish were examined. In the conclusion and evaluation section, the determined structure, concept and usage features of the idioms are shown with numerical data. Accordingly, 364 idioms were identified in the text. Of these, 331 are in the form of compound verbs, and 33 of them are in the form of sentences. There are mostly 194 idioms in the form of "object+verb" among the idioms in the compound verb structure with one element. In the two-element compound verb structure, there are 17 idioms at most and the form "object+indirect object+verb". The number of idioms in the ellipsis structure is 23. According to the concept characteristics, the most 169 idioms and the idioms that meet the abstract concepts were determined. Considering the usage characteristics, 282 of the idioms identified in the text are used with more or less changes today. 82 of them are not used today. In addition, 21 original idioms were identified in the text.
