Turizm Gelişiminin Yerel Halkın Bireysel ve Toplumsal Yaşam Kalitesine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma turizm ve yaşam kalitesi ilişkisini incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu kapsamda turizmin etkileri, yerel halkın bireysel ve toplumsal yaşam kalitesi ve turizm gelişimine yönelik destek değişkenleri arasındaki çok boyutlu ilişkiler, turizme ekonomik bağımlılık düzeyine göre iki farklı grup üzerinden incelenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında Antalya’nın Alanya ilçesinde 390 adet gelirini turizmden kazananlardan, 289 adet ise turizmden gelir elde etmeyenlerden olmak üzere 679 anket toplanmıştır. Uygulanan faktör analizi bulguları her iki grubun da turizmin etkilerini altı boyutta algıladığını gösterirken, yol analizleri sonucunda elde edilen bulgular ise turizmden gelir elde edenler ile turizmden gelir elde etmeyenler için iki farklı turizm ve yaşam kalitesi modelinin ortaya çıktığını göstermiştir. Bununla beraber elde edilen bulgular her iki grup için de turizmin yerel halkın hem bireysel hem de toplumsal yaşam kalitesi üzerinde anlamlı etkilere sahip olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

The Impacts of Tourism Development on Residents’ Personal and Community Quality of Life

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relation of tourism and quality of life. In this context, multidimensional relations among tourism impacts, residents’ personal and community quality of life and support towards tourism development have been investigated over two different groups based on economic dependence on tourism. For the study, which has been carried out in Alanya district of Antalya city, a total of 679 questionnaires collected of which 390 obtained from tourism dependents and 289 obtained from non-tourism dependents. While results of factor analyses indicate that both groups perceive tourism impacts in six dimensions, findings of the path analyses reveal two different tourism and quality of life models for tourism dependents and non-tourism dependents. Furthermore, results indicate that tourism has significant effects on residents’ personal as well as community quality of life for both groups.
