The analysis of the effect of intellectual capital on the values of the firms in ISE tourism sector

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of intellectual capital components (human capital efficiency coefficient, structural capital efficiency coefficient, used capital efficiency coefficient) on the values of the firms in the tourism sector. The population of the analysis consists of tourism companies traded at ISE between 2004 and 2007. Regression models including some control variables have been conducted. Moreover, in order to determine the similarities and differences among the variables, multidimesional scaling model has been used. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that intellectual capital components have the effects on firm value.

İMKB turizm sektöründe entellektüel sermayenin firma değeri üzerindeki etkisinin analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, entellektüel sermaye bileşenlerinin (insan etkinliği katsayısı, kullanılan sermaye etkinliği katsayısı ve yapısal sermaye etkinliği katsayısı) turizm sektöründe yer alan firmaların firma değerleri üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Analiz kapsamına 2004-2007 yılları arasında İMKB turizm sektöründe işlem görmekte olan firmalar alınmış olup, bağımlı ve bağımsız değişkenlerle birlikte kontrol değişkenleri de kullanılarak regresyon modelleri oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada değişkenler arasındaki benzerlik ve farklılıkların tespiti amacıyla çok boyutlu ölçekleme modelinden de yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda entellektüel sermaye bileşenlerinin firma değeri üzerinde etkisi olduğu söylenebilir.
