It is postulated that peaceful relationships among all people, countries and communities be promoted, strengthened and nurtured through sustainable tourism. In this paper, it was aimed to examine the hypothesis the case of Russian visitor flow to Turkey in Yeltsin’s era as a vehicle for promoting peace. The reasons why visitor flow from Russian Federation and time period 1992-1999 were selected as the study area are that this is one of the appropriate case for determination the effect of international tourism to international peace. In order to obtain in depth information about the subject, relevant statistics, agreements, Directorate General of Press and Information’s archive, Newspaper Milliyet’s archive were scanned and questionnaire of VTSIOM was benefited. Findings of the study showed that the visitor flow has curbed escalation of political problems between the countries and closed up the two communities.
