Abstract

Digital transformation is a concept that refers to the reshaping of businesses' business models
and processes with digital technologies, and it is closely related to firm performance. The
objective of this study is to examine the extant literature on the effects of digital transformation
on firm performance through bibliometric analysis to reveal the current situation, significant
trends, and future research perspectives. To this end, a comprehensive search was conducted
using the search terms "digital transformation AND firm performance" in the Web of Science
database, yielding a total of 500 articles that were subjected to bibliometric analysis. The searches
were conducted exclusively in the English language, all sources were selected as sources, and the
period between 2020 and 2025 was considered. The PRISMA method was employed as the
primary data collection approach. The analysis yielded several key findings. First,” Li Lixu”
emerged as the most prolific contributor to the field, contributing 32 articles to the field. Second,
“China” dominated the source contributions, with 32 articles stemming from the nation. Third,
“Technological Forecasting and Social Change” emerged as the leading source of publications,
contributing 32 articles to the field. Finally, Eller et al. (2020) work stood out as the most cited,
amassing an impressive 344 citations. The prominent concepts identified include “digital
transformation, performance, innovation, and digitalization.” Niche themes that emerged as
prominent include “business transformation, agility, sustainability, and technological innovation”.
This study aims to provide a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the existing literature on
the relationship between digital transformation and firm performance, thereby offering a holistic
perspective to the field and proposing a conceptual framework.

Dijital Dönüşüm ve Firma Performansı: Güncel Durum, Eğilimler ve Gelecek Perspektifler Üzerine Bibliyometrik Bir Analiz

Year 2025, Volume: 29 Issue: 3, 486 - 506
https://doi.org/10.53487/atasobed.1669870

Abstract

Bu amaçla “digital transformation and firm
performance” arama kavramları, Web of Science veri tabanında taranarak toplamda 500 makale
Veri
toplama yöntem olarak PRISMA yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak; alana en çok katkı
sağlayan yazar “Li Lixu”, ülke “Çin”, kaynak olarak “Technological Forecasting and Social Change”
