Abstract

Materyal
ve Metod:

Bu çalışma, Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’ nde
bruxism tanısı konulan 50 hastanın ve kontrol grubu olarakta yine 50 hastanın
panoromik radyografilerinin retrospektif ola- rak incelenmesiyle yapılmıştır.

AN EVALUATION OF THE
STYLOID PROCESS LENGTH ON BRUXISM PATIENTS

ABSTRACT

Aim: Styloid Process is a
bone udvidelse that between 20 to 30 mm localized on the temporal bone, in
front of to stylomastoid bone. Extended Styloid Process named as Eagle Syndrome
and generally observed as a pain on head and neck.

Material
and Methods:
This
study is carried out on diagnosed 50 bruxism patients and also 50 control group
patients with examining panoromic radiographs retrospectively in Necmettin
Erbakan University, Dentistry Faculty. 88 of these patients was female, 12 as
for male and between 11-60 ages.

Results: There is statistical
significance differences between bruxism patients and control group (P<0,05)

Conclusion:
Bruxism
induce the extend styloid process, therefore it is understood that it can be
bring about the eagle syndrome.
