Cross-Infection Control In Prosthodontic Treatments

Abstract

Cross contamination is defined as transition of microorganisms that can cause the infection among the patient-dentist-dental staff. Prosthodontics and her/his teams (dental nurses and technicians) are subjected to many infections from the patients. Defining the microorganisms that causing the infections and be aware of their properties have a great important in point of dentist should have taken preventive measures against the transition ways of microorganisms and infections. In this study, the important of cross contamination at prosthetic field, active microorganisms and their transition ways, methods of sterilization/disinfection and protective and preventive methods from the cross contamination are described in the light of current literatures.

Protetik Tedavilerde Çapraz Enfeksiyon Kontrolü

Abstract

Çapraz enfeksiyon, enfeksiyona neden olabilecek mikroorganizmaların hasta-hekim-yardımcı personel arasındaki geçişi olarak tanımlanır. Protez uzmanı ve çalışma ekibi (diş hemşiresi ve diş tenkisyeni) hastalardan geçebilecek birçok enfeksiyonla karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Enfeksiyonlara neden olan mikroorganizmaların tanımlanması ve özelliklerinin bilinmesi, diş hekiminin mikroorganizmaların bulaşma yolları ve enfeksiyonlara karşı alacağı önlemler açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu makalede, protetik tedavilerde, çapraz enfeksiyonun önemi, etken mikroorganizmalar ve geçiş yolları, sterilizasyon/dezenfeksiyon yöntemleri, çapraz enfeksiyondan koruyucu ve önleyici tedbirler güncel literatürler eşliğinde anlatılmaktadır.
