Abstract

Zihinsel engelli bireyler, diğer sağlık hizmetleri ile kıyaslandığında en fazla ağız sağlığı hizmetine ulaşımda güçlük çekmektedirler. İletişimin yetersiz olması, uyum eksikliği ve eşlik eden sistemik hastalıklar bu durumun sebebi olarak gösterilebilir. Bu çalışmada ülkemizde zihinsel engelli bireylere sunulan ağız-diş sağlığı hizmetleri irdelenmiş, eksikliklerin giderilmesi yönünde atılması gereken adımlar konusunda öneriler sunulmuştur
