Abstract

Estetik diş hekimliğinde, iyi bir dental estetiğe sahip olmanın yanında, dişleri çevreleyen yumuşak dokularında iyi bir estetiğe sahip olması gerekmektedir. Protetik restorasyonları çevreleyen yumuşak dokuların görünüşü ve rengi de dişlerin rengi kadar önemlidir. Geniş bir renk varyasyonuna sahip dişetinin ve oral dokuların madde kayıplarında, parlak pembe renkli protez kaide plağının kullanılmasının evrensel bir çözüm olmayacağı oldukça açıktır. Sağlıklı dişeti renk karakteristiği uçuk pembeden,pembe, koyu kırmızıve morakadar değişir. Kranio-fasial yapıların rengini tanımlanması ve rapor edilmesi için bir takım girişimler yapılmaktadır. İnsan gingival ve mukozal dokularının renginin değerlendirmesi intra oral yumuşak dokular renk skalası geliştirmek için önemli bir basamaktır. Bu tür ölçümler için uygulanan iki yöntem vardır. Görsel olarak çıplak göz ile değerlendirme ve aletsel olarak kolorimetre, spektrofotometre, spektroradiometre gibi çeşitli cihazların kullanımıdır. Diş hekimliğinde renk seçiminde en sık kullanılan yöntem, prefabrike renk skalaları ile görsel seçimdir ve oral yumuşak dokular için geliştirilmiş değişik renk skalaları bulunmaktadır. Bu makale, dişeti rengi seçimi ve dişeti skalaları hakkında genel bilgi veren bir literatür taraması sunmaktadır
