Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Başkent Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi öğrencilerinin beslenme alışkanlıklarının değerlendirilmesidir. Bireyler ve Yöntem: Araştırmaya Başkent Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’nde öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 71 öğrenci katılmıştır. Katılan bireylerden beslenme ve oral hijyen alışkanlıklarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla hazırlanan soruları cevaplamaları ve 3 günlük diyet analiz formunu doldurmaları istenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin ağız-diş muayeneleri yapılarak, DMFT skorları hesaplanmıştır. Veriler ortalama +/- standart sapma olarak gösterilip, Mann Whitney U ve Ki- kare / Fisher’s exact testleri ile analiz edilmiştir(p0.05). Sonuç: Şekerli besinleri çok sık tüketmelerine rağmen çalışmaya katılan bireylerin ortalama DMFT skoru genç erişkinler için kabul edilebilir sınırlarda bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçların iyi ağız hijyeni alışkanlıklarına bağlı olduğu düşünülmektedir
