Abstract

Erken dönemde görülen periodontitislerde periodontal ataşmanda çok hızlı ve kısa sürede bir yıkım görülürken, erişkin tip periodontitislerde yıkım daha az ve yavaş biçimde seyreder. Ortodontik tedaviye ihtiyaç duyulan periodontitisli bireylerde kombine ortodontik ve periodontal tedaviler arasında çok sıkı bir işbirliği gerekmektedir. Tedavi planlanmasında, biomekanik prensiplerin yanı sıra dokuların fizyolojik durumu da göz önüne alınmalıdır. Çünkü periodontitisli bireylerdeki ataşman düzeyi, sağlıklı bireylere göre oldukça azalır. Geçmiş dönemlerde, periodontal olarak etkilenmiş bir dişin prognozu zayıf veya umutsuz olarak değerlendirilmiş ve ortodontik tedavi öncesi bu dişlerin çekimi yoluna gidilmiştir. Çalışmamızda, ortodontik tedavi gereksinimi ile kliniğimize başvuran lokalize agresif periodontitisli bir hastaya; ortodontik tedavi öncesi ve sonrasında uygulanan periodontal tedavi prosedürlerinin sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
