DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİ AÇISINDAN RİSKLİ SİSTEMİK HASTALIKLAR VE BU HASTALIKLARA BAĞLI OLUŞABİLECEK ACİL DURUMLAR: BÖLÜM 2 - SİSTEMİK ACİL DURUMLAR VE MÜDAHALELERİ

Year 2016, Supplement 16, 157 - 163, 24.11.2016

Abstract

SYSTEMIC DISEASES
CONSIDERED RISKY FROM THE POINT OF DENTISTRY AND EMERGENCY SITUATIONS THAT MAY
ARISE RELATED TO THESE DISEASES: PART 2 – SYSTEMIC EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND
MANAGEMENT

ABSTRACT

 Medical
emergencies can easily occur at any time in the dental setting whether it is
because of various systemic diseases or just because of the stress the dental
chair brings on the patients. Before any treatment all preventive measures
should be taken in order to avoid medical emergencies. All the equipment that
may be used in case of an emergency should easily be accessed by the dentist.
Along with dental treatment modalities they perform, clinicians should be able
to recognize medical emergencies when they occur and should have the knowledge
to manage the situation without panicking. In this review, medical emergencies
that may frequently be encountered in the dental setting
will be mentioned.
