Abstract

Caferiye Mosque, situated on Cumhuriyet Street, was first designed as a külliye architecture. It is 17th century Ottoman külliye which consists of a mosque, a religious retirement, a madrasa, a school, Turkish bath, a fountain and toilets. Only the mosque, the school, the religious retirement and the fountain have reached to the present. Cafer Efendi, the founder of Külliye, was a prominent figure in 17th century Erzurum, and is known with his generosity, and intellectual personality. The mosque is square planned, one domed, and in front of it there is three sectioned the last community placement. It has been repaired by Regional Directorate of Foundations in 2006 and 2007
