Abstract
Öz
MÖ 10. yüzyılda ortaya çıkmaya
başlayan mezar stellerinin özellikle Yunan ve Roma kültürlerindeki gelişimleri
değerlendirildi. Kısa bir tarihi gelişimi verilen mezar stellerinde, bu süre
içinde meydana gelen değişim ve gelişimler belirli örnekler yardımıyla
incelendi. Bu bağlamda özellikle yapılış nedenleri, stellerin genel yapısı ve
üzerlerine işlenen figürler irdelendi. Yunan ve Roma heykeltraşlık
kronolojisindeki önemi ve çeşitli nedenlerle ön plana çıkan bölgelerin etkileri
ortaya konmaya çalışıldı.
