BİR BAŞYAPITIN YENİDEN KEŞFİ: GENT ALTAR PANOSU RESTORASYON PROJESİ

Abstract

Hubert
ve Jan Van Eyck kardeşlerin başyapıtı olan Gent altar
panosunun restorasyonu sanat eseri restorasyon ve konservasyonu
alanında günümüzün en dikkat çeken projelerinden biridir. Çok
ortaklı ve disiplinlerarası projede onarım ve yenileme çalışmaları
paralelinde yapıt için şu ana kadarki en kapsamlı araştırmalar
gerçekleştirilmektedir. Proje bir anlamda yapıtın tüm
özelliklerinin yeniden keşfi haline gelmiştir. Eserin tekniği ve
ikonografik özellikleri üzerine yapılan araştırmalar Van Eyck
kardeşler ve yaşadıkları çağ hakkında yeni bilgiler
edinilmesine olanak sağlamıştır. Proje paralelinde
gerçekleştirilen halka açık etkinlikler ve sergiler Gent
altarpanosunun ve Erken Flaman sanatının geniş kitlelere
tanıtılmasında önemli rol oynamıştır. Gent
altar panosu restorasyon projesi sanat eserlerinin yenilenme ve
korunmasına ilişkin çok önemli bir örnek olduğu kadar onları
popülerleştirmeyi amaçlayan yaratıcı girişimlerin de çok
önemli bir örneğini temsil etmektedir.

The rediscovery of a masterpiece: Restoration project of the Ghent Altarpiece

Abstract

The
restoration of the Ghent Altarpiece, the masterpiece of Hubert and
Jan Van Eyck brothers, is one of the most remarkable projects in the
field of art restoration and conservation today.In the multi-partner
and interdisciplinary project, in parallel with repair and
renovation, most comprehensive researchs until now are carried out on
the masterpiece . In a sense, the project has become the rediscovery
of all the features of the work. Researchs on the technique and
iconographic characteristics of the artwork provided the opportunity
to acquire new knowledge about Van Eyck brothers and their era.
Public events and exhibitions in parallel with the project have
played an important role to introducing the Ghent altarpiece and
Early Flemish art to a wide spectator. The restoration project of the
Ghent altarpiece is as a very important example as about renovation
and protection of art works, it's also represents very important
example of creative initiatives to aim of popularize them
