PEDİATRİK PALYATİF BAKIM VE HEMŞİRELİK

Abstract

Avrupa’da kanser mortalitesi ve morbiditesinde artış olduğu görülmektedir. Ancak son yıllarda tıp ve teknolojideki gelişmeler kanserli çocukların yaşam sürelerini uzatmıştır. Kanser insidansı ve kanserli çocukların yaşam süresindeki bu artış palyatif bakıma olan gereksinimi arttırmıştır. Palyatif bakım “Tedaviye yanıt vermeyen hastalığı olan hastaların tüm bakımıdır. Ağrı ve diğer semptomların yanı sıra, sosyal, psikolojik ve manevi problemlerin kontrolü önemlidir. Palyatif bakımın amacı, hasta ve ailesinin olabilecek en iyi yaşam kalitesini sağlamaktır. Palyatif bakım hastalık tanısı konulduğunda başlar ve çocuğun tedavi alıp almadığına bakılmaksızın devam eder. Palyatif bakım ölümü normal bir süreç gibi kabul ederek yaşamı destekler. Ölümü ne çabuklaştırır ne de geciktirmeye çalışır. Palyatif bakım acıların hafifletilmesini ve semptom kontrolünü sağlar. Etkili palyatif bakım hasta ve aileye odaklı, toplumdaki kaynakların kullanımını sağlayan bir multi disipliner yaklaşımı içerir.
