Nursing Students’ Knowledge About Intramuscular Injection Objective: The study aims to determine the knowledge of nursing students about intramuscular injection. Method: This study that was a descriptive was conducted in İzmir on a school of health in 2012. The sample of the study consisted of 208 nursing students. The nursing students’ descriptive characteristics and 40point information questionnaire based on the literature developed by the researchers was used. Results: It was determined that total points of the students on intramuscular injection administration were intermediate level. Knowledge points of the female students were higher than those of male students (p<0.05). Average knowledge point of the students with pass mark between 60 and 69 for the lesson “Fundamentals of Nursing” was lower than those students with pass mark between 70 and 79 and those with a pass mark with 80 or above (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was found that knowledge level of the students on intramuscular injection administration was at intermediate level and the students had wrong information. Knowledge of the students on intramuscular injection administration should be updated annually. Their applications should be observed on clinical areas and evaluated theoretically.
Amaç: Araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin intramüsküler enjeksiyon uygulamalarına yönelik
bilgilerinin incelenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı nitelikte yapılan bu araştırma, İzmir ilinde bir sağlık yüksekokulunda 2012 yılında
yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 208 hemşirelik öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı
olarak, araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanmış öğrencilerin tanımlayıcı özellikleri ve 40
puanlık bilgi formu kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Öğrencilerin intramüsküler enjeksiyona yönelik total bilgileri orta düzeyde bulunmuştur
