Abstract

ÖZET

Tıbbi Malpraktis, sağlık mesleği mensuplarının mesleğini uyguladığı esnada hatalı, kusurlu hareketleri sonucu ortaya çıkan zarar olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Yenidoğan döneminde; sağlık mensubunun dikkatli öykü almaması nedeni ile gelişen durumlar, doğum travması, bilinçsiz uygulamalar, fetal distres ve baş pelvis uyuşmazlığının tanılanamaması, neonatal resüsitasyon uygulamasında hatalar, hipoglisemi ve hiperbilirubinemi gelişmesini tanılamada başarısızlık, hatalı ilaç uygulamaları ve hastane enfeksiyonları gibi malpraktis olguları görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak; Malpraktis davaları son zamanlarda giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Bu nedenle hatalı uygulamaları önlemek için ebeler dikkatli olmalı, yetki ve sorumluluklarının bilincinde olmalı, gereksiz müdahale uygulamaktan kaçınmalı, doğru ve yeterli kayıt tutmalıdır. Eğer hatalı bir uygulama nedeni ile yenidoğan zarar gördü ise ebeler hekim ile işbirliği içinde gerekli girişimlerde bulunmalıdır. Ayrıca yapılan ve/veya ihmal edilen girişimlerin kayıt altına alınması ebelerin sorumlulukları arasındadır.

ABSTRACT

Midwifery and malpractice in the neonatal

Medical malpractice is described as the damage caused by wrong and negligent acts that take place when health care providers perform their profession. During the neonatal period; malpractice cases -such as complications occurring due to medical history taken inattentively by the health care personnel, birth traumas, ignorant practices, inability to detect fetal distress and cephalopelvic disproportion, errors in neonatal resuscitation, inability to detect hypoglycemia and hyperbilirubinemia development in the neonatal, incorrect medication practices and hospital infections can be seen. As a result; malpractice cases have lately been widespread.  Therefore, midwives should know and be careful about their responsibilities and powers, avoid of doing unnecessary practices and keep correct and sufficient records in order to prevent improper practices. If a newborn is hurt due to an improper and erroneous practice, midwives should do necessary interventions in collaboration with physicians. Besides, it is one of the midwives’ responsibilities to record interventions that are executed and/or neglected.
