Abstract

Özet: Faktör analizi, fazla sayıdaki gözlenen değişkenler ile açıklanan
bilginin önemli bir kısmım daha az sayıdaki, faktör adı verilen bileşenler ile
açıklamaya çalışır, Bu bileşenler elde edilirken bir çok farklı faktörleştirme
(faktör çıkarma) yöntemi kullanılabilir. Kullanılan farklı faktörleştirme
yöntemlerine aiı sonuçlar birbiri ile ne kadar uyumlu ise seçilen değişkenlerin
analiz için o kadar uygun olduğu söylenebilir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada; 2000
yılı için 81 ile ait 21 değişkene Temel Bileşenler, Ağırlıklandınlmamış EKK,
Genelleştirilmiş EKK ve İmaj Faktörleştirmesi olmak üzere 4 farklı
faktörleştirme yöntemi uygulanmış, bu yöntemlerden elde edilen sonuçlar
karşılaştırılarak veri setinin iyi tanımlanıp tanımlanmadığının ortaya konulması
amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract: With the aid of factor analysis, an important part of
information explained by several observed variables is evaluated by fewer
components called factors. In obtaining those components, a number of factor
extraction methods can be used. The more consistent results came out by factor
extraction methods, the more convenient the variables for analysis. For this
reason, 21 variables belonging to 81 countries for the year of 2000 are processed
by 4 different extraction methods; Principal Component, Unweighted Least
Squares, Generalized Least Squares and Image Factoring in this study. The
question of whether data set is well defined or not is tried to be pointed out by
comparing provided results.
